This Foundation Programme in Inclusive Sport, Coaching and Leisure Management is specifically designed for High School students who wish to progress onto undergraduate sports and leisure management degree programmes. There is a strong emphasis on developing the learning skills and study approaches that you will need in preparation for studying abroad. This ensures that students who graduate from our programme are well equipped to face the challenge of studying at an overseas university.
The University Foundation Programme in Inclusive Sport, Coaching and Leisure Management is taught over one academic year. In the first part, there is a focus on improving academic and language skills as well as modules that introduce students to core units that cover sports development, performance, leadership and management concepts that are so important for most undergraduate sports degrees, for example:
The principal aim of the course is to prepare students for entry onto degree programmes, with a strong practical element to the course allowing theories to be applied to practical situations.
This is a 120 credit (UK) qualification with classes taught online by experienced teachers. Assessments will include practical elements where necessary. To obtain the diploma and progress to their target undergraduate degree, learners must study and pass 10 core units PLUS 2 optional units.
